The NASDAQ volume leaders for Monday included: Microsoft Corporation, (MSFT), Micron Technology (MU), Intel Corporation (INTC), Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO), and Nvidia Corporation (NVDA).
Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) finished the day with volume of 54,473,661, and while it topped the NASDAQ volume leaders it failed to reach its average of 57.8 million. The company posted a slight gain on the day to close at 25.69. MSFT, which develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a range of software products and services for various computing devices worldwide, remains below its 50-day moving average of 27.34 and its 200-day moving average of 25.74.
Micron Technology (MU) led all NASDAQ trading companies in volume on Monday with 51,161,602 shares trading hands, well ahead of their average of 39.6 million. Alongside the spike in trading volume shares in MU pushed forward 1.17% on the day to close at 10.36. Micron Technology, which engages in the manufacture and marketing of semiconductor devices worldwide, managed to pull even with their 50-day moving average of 10.36 and still remains above their 200-day moving average of 8.50.
Intel Corporation (INTC) closed the day with volume of 48,955,107, a drop from its average of 55.8 million and but still good enough to be the third most active stock on NASDAQ Monday. Shares closed at 20.79 on the day, down 1.93% and the company which designs, manufactures, and sells integrated circuits for computing and communications industries worldwide, is trading below their 50-day moving average of 21.26 and 200-day moving average of 20.26.
Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) saw heavy trading on Monday with volume hitting 45,158,211 yet that was down significantly compared to its average of 69.7 million. With the lower volume shares fell to a 52-week low of 17.74 during the day but managed to close at 17.85, still down 0.56%. CSCO, which designs, manufactures, and sells Internet protocol (IP)-based networking and other products related to the communications and information technology industry worldwide, remains below its 50-day moving average of 19.99 as well as its 200-day moving average of 21.42.
Nvidia Corporation (NVDA) shares climbed 0.83% on Monday to close at 18.20 following volume of 25,086,336, well shy of its 30.4 average. NVDA, which provides visual computing technologies that generate interactive graphics on workstations, personal computers, game consoles, and mobile devices, continues to trail their 50-day moving average of 22.00 but they remain ahead of their 200-day moving average of 14.21.
