A dozen companies trading on the OTCBB managed to hit new 52-week highs on Wednesday including: Echo Therapeutics (ECTE), Neoprobe Corporation (NEOP), Snap Interactive (STVI), Sentry Petroleum (SPLM), and Canadian Zinc Corp (CZICF).
Echo Therapeutics (ECTE) jumped to a new 52-week high of 3.51 on Tuesday and closed the day at 3.40 following a heavy trading day that pushed volume passed the 1.3 million mark, well above its average of around 165,167. Shares in the company, which engages in developing a non-invasive, wireless, and transdermal continuous glucose monitoring (tCGM) system for use in clinical settings and for people with diabetes, as well as a range of transdermal reformulations of specialty pharmaceutical products previously approved by the FDA, are significantly higher than their 50-day moving average of 1.76 as well as their 200-day moving average of 1.32.
Neoprobe Corporation (NEOP) climbed to a 52-week high of 3.44 on Tuesday as investors have reacted favorably to the recent approval for the company to begin listing on the AMEX. Shares in the company, which engages in the development and commercialization of surgical and diagnostic products that enhance patient care by meeting the decision making needs of physicians in the United States and internationally, closed at that 3.26 mark to push it further above the 50-day moving average of 2.25 and their 200-day moving average of 1.92.
Snap Interactive (STVI) saw shares jump 16.95% on Tuesday and close the day at a new 52-week high of 3.45 with nearly 2x their average trading volume pushing the move north. Last week the company, which provides online dating applications for social networking Websites and mobile platforms, announced they the BETA launch of WholsNear.com. At the moment shares are well above the 50-day moving average of 1.48 and the 200-day moving average of 0.55.
Sentry Petroleum (SPLM) shot to a 52-week high of 3.02 on Tuesday before shedding a 0.01 to close at 3.01 on the day with more than 4x the average trading volume taking place. Shares in the company, which engages in the assessment, acquisition, exploration, and development of oil, gas, and other hydrocarbon properties in Australia and other regions in Austral Asia, remain above the 50-day moving average of 2.05 and their 200-day moving average of 1.22.
Canadian Zinc Corp (CZICF) hit a new 52-week high on Tuesday as shares climbed to 0.939 before closing at 0.935. Shares in the development stage company, which engages in the exploration, development, and re-permitting of natural resource properties in Canada, are currently trading above the 50-day moving average of 0.68 and their 200-day moving average of 0.53.
